Position Summary
The Indiana University School of Social Work IUSSW invites applications for a tenuretrack faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor for the Indiana University South Bend campus. Specific areas of scholarly interest are open while seeking teaching expertise in research and social policy. Applicant records should demonstrate potential for or an established record of success in scholarship funded research and teaching. This is a tenmonth position starting in August 2025. The Indiana University School of Social Work IUSSW founded in 1911 is a universitywide system school with CSWE accredited MSW and BSW Programs since 1923 and 1975 respectively and most recently reaffirmed in 2021. The School is a founding member of the Universitys health sciences Interprofessional Practice and Education Center creating opportunities for students and faculty. IU provides faculty opportunities for competitive funding to support timely and innovative research. With current leadership under Dean Kalea Benner the School encompasses seven campuses plus an online MSW program and a Center for Social Health and WellBeing to advance impact. IU South Bend is located at the north central part of the state approximately 2.5 hours north of Indianapolis 1.5 hours east of Chicago and 45 minutes east of the beaches of southern Lake Michigan. IU South Bend enrolls over 5000 students per year and offers more than 100 academic degrees. The population of the region is diverse among students and within the communities served by the IU South Bend campus.
