Description

The Spring Island Club Property Pool Technician will maintain the pools cleanliness safety and functionality including water testing chemical balancing equipment maintenance and cleaning the pool and surrounding areas to maintain club property in optical condition and appearance. This position reports to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pool Cleaning and Maintenance:
    • Skimming vacuuming and brushing the pool to remove debris.
    • Cleaning and disinfecting pool deck areas.
    • Maintaining the cleanliness of pool equipment.
  • Water Chemistry and Treatment:
    • Testing and balancing water chemistry (pH chlorine alkalinity etc..
    • Adjusting chemical levels as needed.
    • Ordering and stocking chemicals and supplies.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
    • Performing routine maintenance on pumps filters heaters and other pool equipment.
    • Troubleshooting and repairing minor issues.
    • Reporting any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensuring the pool area is safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.
    • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities chemical levels and safety inspections.
  • Other Duties:
    • Setting up pool equipment for swimming classes or events.
    • Assisting with other poolrelated tasks as needed.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interacting with club members and answering questions about pool operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of pool chemistry and water treatment.
    • Understanding of pool equipment and systems.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and repair minor issues.
  • Physical Skills:
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Other Skills:
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Reliability and attention to detail.
  • Monitors all work done by laborers
  • Attend staff meetings

Physical Requirements

This work requires the regular exertion of up to 50 pounds of force frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of more than 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing and using hands to finger handle or feel frequently walking speaking or hearing stooping kneeling crouching or crawling reaching with hands and arms pushing or pulling lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting climbing or balancing and tasting or smelling; work requires close vision distance vision ability to adjust focus depth perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts using of measuring devices assembly of fabrication of parts within arms length operating machines operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to outdoor weather conditions frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally requires working in high precarious places exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals exposure to the risk of electrical shock and exposure to vibration; work is generally in a moderate noise location (e.g. heavy traffic).
