Desirable Qualifications
Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity equity and inclusion into all areas of responsibility; Recent experience working with African American Asian/Pacific Islander Latinx Native American and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes; Willingness to examine and remediate ones instructional relational and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students; Masters degree in any field; Minimum of one year teaching experience in an accredited dental hygiene program; Documented background in clinical and educational methodologies; Professional membership in the California Dental Hygienists Association and the California Dental Hygiene Educators Association; Certified in Interim Therapeutic Restorations and Radiographic DecisionMaking Current knowledge of Evidence Based Decision Making Current knowledge of Emerging Workforce Models Willingness to lead/participate in the student dental hygiene associations Related work and professional experience; Experience and skill with addressing issues of equity in the classroom; Potential for contribution to institutional vitality and growth; and Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals.
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students as these factors relate to the need for equityminded practice within the classroom; and Any bachelors degree or higher; and Two years of professionally related experience including direct patient care experience within the previous five years; and Current license in California as a dental hygienist or dentist or immediate eligibility to obtain California license.
