The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the planning administration and compliance of the organizations benefits programs ensuring they align with company objectives and meet employee needs. This role involves managing health and wellness benefits retirement plans leave policies and other employee perks. The Benefits Manager will also leverage Paycom to oversee benefits enrollment data management reporting and compliance.
Duties/Responsibilities
Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of all employee benefits including medical dental vision life insurance disability and retirement plans.
HRIS & Technology Management: Utilize Paycom to manage benefits enrollment eligibility tracking ACA compliance and reporting.
Employee Support & Communication: Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits leave policies and retirement plans; develop and deliver educational materials.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with ERISA ACA COBRA HIPAA and other applicable laws and regulations; manage required filings (e.g. 5500s).
Open Enrollment: Plan and execute annual open enrollment including system setup communication strategies and troubleshooting employee concerns.
Vendor Management: Work with benefits providers to negotiate contracts resolve issues and ensure highquality service for employees.
Data & Analytics: Generate reports using Paycom to analyze benefits usage costs and trends to optimize plan offerings.
Leave Management: Oversee FMLA ADA short and longterm disability and other leave policies in compliance with federal and state laws.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of benefits compliance and regulatory requirements.
Experience with selfinsured plans highly preferred
Proficiency in HR technology including benefits enrollment platforms reporting tools and data analytics.
Experience with Paycom andAsana (or similar project management platforms) highly preferred
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits information in a clear manner.
Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fastpaced environment.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
5 years of experience in benefits administration with at least 2 years in a management role.
Experience working with Paycom or a similar HRIS system.
