Job Description
Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst
Overview:
The Senior NOC Analyst is a critical role responsible for monitoring troubleshooting and maintaining the health and performance of our complex network infrastructure as well as client networks. This position requires a deep understanding of network protocols network devices and network management tools. The ideal candidate will have strong problemsolving skills a proactive approach to network maintenance and the ability to work effectively under pressure. **This is a hybrid role and must reside in Birmingham AL.**
Responsibilities:
- Monitor network performance metrics including bandwidth utilization latency and packet loss.
- Respond to network alarms and incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
- Use diagnostic tools to monitor and evaluate the health of clients IT environments addressing alerts promptly
- Diagnose perform rootcause analysis and resolve network issues including hardware software and configuration problems.
- Configure and maintain circuits vendor relationships network devices such as routers switches and firewalls.
- Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate network documentation.
- Participate in network projects including new client onboarding including upgrades migrations and new deployments.
- Work rotating shifts including nights weekends and holidays.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and collaborate with peers to enhance team capabilities and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in network operations.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP UDP HTTP FTP DNS DHCP).
- Experience with network devices from vendors like Arista Cisco and Juniper or Arista.
- Proficiency in network management tools. ScienceLogic a plus)
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CCST CCNA or CCNP certification preferred.
