Program Overview
TheSIE Culinary Management Summer Internship Programprovides college students with an immersive handson experience in various aspects of culinary operations inventory management and administrative support. This program is designed to introduce interns to the fastpaced world of food service offering valuable industry knowledge and skill development under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Program Structure
Duration:
The internship runs for10 weeksduring the summer (June August). Interns will be assigned to specific departments based on their skills interests and company needs.
Compensation:
Interns will receivecompetitive hourly payfor their time and contributions or college credit.
Integration:
Interns are considered part of the SIE team and are expected to adhere to the same workplace policies standards and professional expectations as fulltime employees.
Internship Tracks & Responsibilities
1. Culinary Operations Internship(Working under Chef Richards team)
Assist withinventory management including counting stocking and storing ingredients.
Help receive and inspect product deliveries.
Support chefs withbasic prep work(knife cuts measuring portioning).
Learn aboutmenu planning and order placement.
Gain handson experience inkitchen operations including food safety and sanitation.
2. Inventory & Receiving Internship
Work closely with the inventory team totrack and manage food stock.
Assist in placing and verifying vendor orders.
Maintain storage areas and ensure items are labeled correctly.
Conduct weekly inventory audits to monitor usage and prevent waste.
3. HR & Administrative Internship
Assist the HR team withrecordkeeping scheduling and documentation.
Help coordinateonboarding and training.
Take meeting notes and help compile reports.
Support employee engagement activities including newsletters surveys and other company communication channels.
4. Social Media & Marketing Internship
Assist in creating and schedulingsocial media contentfor SIE Culinary.
Capture photos and videos of daily kitchen and event operations.
Help track social media analytics and engagement metrics.
Work with the marketing team to brainstorm new promotional ideas.
