This position is with EAII Advisors Evidence Actions technical partner in India.

About EAII

EAII Advisors Evidence Actions technical partner in India supports state governments in delivering evidencebased public health programs including safe drinking water initiatives and school and Anganwadibased National Deworming Day and iron and folic acid supplementation. Operating across 11 states EAII Advisors provides technical assistance to ministries of health education water and women and child development reducing health burdens in impoverished communities and improving the longterm wellbeing of children and families.

About the Safe Water Now Team

Evidence ActionsSafe Water Nowprogram provides safe drinking water to over 10 million people across rural Uganda Malawi and Kenya. Recent evidence highlights that water treatment may be among the most costeffective interventions available to save young childrens lives reducing allcause child mortality by about 25. The Dispensers for Safe Water (DSW) program based on research by a Nobelwinning economist utilizes an innovative and humancentric design to deliver clean water at the source in rural settings achieving usage rates which are 5x that of comparable interventions. Evidence Action recently launched a next generation technology InLine Chlorination (ILC) in Uganda and Malawi targeting rural periurban and urban communities which has the potential to be even more costeffective. Over the past year weve more thandouble our footprint in East Africa and are actively exploring opportunities for expansion into new countries.

In addition to its longstanding work in East Africa Evidence Action through its technical partner in India EAII Advisors is launching a major technical assistance program to help the government of India reach 17.5 million people with safe water. This complements the Indian governments effort to bring water access to every household in the country.

The Role

Employment Status:Consultancy 11 months)

The Regional Coordinator will report to the State Program Manager and will be required to work in close coordination with various team members from the state team. The RC will represent EAIIs Health and Nutrition program at the regional/district level and provide technical support in the effort to strengthen the implementation of the Health and Nutrition program as per the operational and financial guidelines. The RC will work closely with the region/ district/ block officials of the state government departments Health Education Women and Child Development and other stakeholders for optimum utilization of the existing platforms for better interdepartmental coordination and strengthening of the program.

Requirements
  • Graduate with 710 years of experience in the development sector preferably in the field of Education or Maternal/Child Health nutrition schoolbased interventions adolescent program with government or INGOs/NGOs
  • Ability to set priority and handle multiple task with ease
  • Detailedoriented and accurate in work performance
  • Experience in program implementation at district bock and community level
  • Experience of collaboration and coordination with government officials of Health Education and WCD departments at regional district and block levels
  • Good communication skills in Hindi and English
  • A valid driving license and a vehicle 2/4 Wheeler). (Please note that organization will not be providing any dedicated vehicle as per the policy. Consultants are responsible to make arrangements for their own vehicle)
  • Submission of copy of driving license is a must
  • Computer skills MS office
  • Understanding of local dialect is preferred
  • Strong coordination and follow up
  • Experience of working with District and Block level government officials of the Department of Health/WCD/Education
  • Experience of capacity building of government stakeholders at district level and below
  • Experience in preparing and managing presentation and reports consisting of varied data sets
  • Passionate to bring change

Position Location

The role is based at Latehar and Palamu regions in Jharkhand. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an Indian employment visa at this time. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in India for roles based in India.
