Job Description
The Server Administrator is responsible for implementing maintaining and supporting the local labs Microsoft and VMware environment. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in Windows Server Windows 10/11 and Active Directory. This role involves installing administering and optimizing software and servers to ensure high performance of the supported business applications. Key responsibilities include ensuring the availability of virtualization hosts configuring new implementations and developing processes and procedures for ongoing server management. The Server Administrator will monitor maintain support and optimize all software and associated operating systems while collaborating with the SHUSA Server Team. The successful candidate will be a selfstarter with excellent communication skills a positive attitude and knowledge of Healthcare Information Technology.

Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide comprehensive technical support for local and remote users ensuring timely resolution of IT issues.
- Backups: Restore files on servers and workstations as needed. Establish reliable backup procedures. Assist the Data Center team in successfully backing up media to tape and storing it offsite daily.
- File Maintenance: Perform data backups restores and purges as required.
- Mentoring: Serve as a point of escalation or contact for the tech services team to assist with problem resolution and training.
- Server Management: Manage and maintain Windows Server 2019/2022 Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange environments.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Scripting: Utilize scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python to automate tasks and enhance system performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams to support IT initiatives and projects.
- Independence: Ability to work independently or in teams while managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to peers and management.
- OnCall Rotation: Participate in oncall support as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel for support or installations.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Education Licensure Certification:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
- Current experience in a server administration role is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of VMware.
- Selfstarter with a positive attitude and strong multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in Windows Server Active Directory Microsoft Exchange (onpremises) Office 365 and network protocols.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Python.
- Excellent communication teamwork and problemsolving abilities.
- Associates 2year) degree with a technical major.
- VMware VCP or Microsoft MCSE Certification is a plus.
