This position will support Professional Liability Claims in the timely assignment of all new losses handled by the Management Liability E&O Executive Liability Cyber and Complex Claims Teams. The position is responsible for reviewing triaging and distributing new claims to the appropriate manager for timely assignment. Triaging of new losses will include performing an initial evaluation of claims conducting a thorough investigation of the facts policy limits and damages.Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sr. Triage Specialist regarding all claim assignment protocols
- Ensure timely assignment of all new claims
- Perform technical assessments all new claims for complexity level and claim value in order to segment and triage
- Serve as one of the initial points of contact for internal and external customers regarding assignment questions
- Investigate all losses designated as potential significant/catastrophic exposures and draft a triage recommendation timely. This will include time limit/ policy limit demands and mediation and trial notices.
- Identify and report on claims trends through new losses
- Serve as a liaison between the first notice of loss team and Casualty claims
- Foster and encourage strong relationships with internal stakeholders
- Promote and enhance strong relationships with customers and channel partners
- Participate in special projects as requested including data cleanup initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- Successful completion of basic insurance courses or achievement of industry designations (INS IEA AIC ARM SCLA CPCU)
- Minimum of 2 years of claims handling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to multitask and change course quickly
- Proficiency in the various claims and document management systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel Outlook Power Point Word)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong desire for continuous improvement
- Markel offers hybrid working schedules of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Pay information:
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as jobrelevant education jobrelevant experience training licensure demonstrated competencies geographic location and other factors.The salary for the position is $52K $86600K with a 12 bonus potential.
