Job Description:
The teacher assistants involved in the academy will participate in a oneweek training prior to the start of the academyconsistingof minilessons on early number lesson planning manipulatives and classroom management.During the academy the teacher assistants willaidthe lead teacher in the classroom andadminister small group instruction to35 students. They will monitor student progress create differentiated station activities andreview assessment data on a weekly basis toprepare for the subsequentweek. The teacher assistants will also assumeresponsibility of delivering whole group instruction at least once during the academy.
- Assist students in a designated academic subject or discipline as needed
- Foster educational growth and development; identify educational needs and provide assistance as necessary
- Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
- Provide information and excellent customer service to constituents
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
