The Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) was created to foster a positive business climate that encourages quality economic development through support of local and regional economic development activities throughout the State of Colorado. A comprehensive slate of programs within OEDITs divisions work together to offer economic development services for all Colorado businesses new and expanding traditional and emerging small and large including retention programs to ensure continued competitiveness of Colorados economic base and job training to keep Colorados workforce the best in the nation.

The position offers fulltime employment as an exempt atwill State of Colorado Employee with an anticipated duration through December 2026.
OEDIT is looking for a highly detailoriented Human Resources (HR) Coordinator who excels at customer service and administrative efficiency. This position will coordinate the daytoday HR generalist functions for our growing agency. This includes providing support in the recruitment and hiring process; onboarding and offboarding employees; managing employee benefits including leave matters; maintaining employee records; working closely with the Payroll team; and assisting the Human Resources Director in all aspects of the employee experience. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The HR Coordinator will act as the key support system for the HR Director in overseeing the overall employee lifecycle within the organization including but not limited to the following areas and responsibilities:
HR Administration
Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance to the Human Resources Director
Maintain records of personnelrelated records (personal information benefits job descriptions leaves performance and more) and ensure all employment requirements are met.
Liaise with other internal and external partners (payroll benefits compensation legal counsel learning & development)
Coordinate and track personnel action forms (PAFs)
HR Operations and Programs
Assist with HR policy updates compliance and maintenance of HR information on the officewide intranet
Create and customize reports and metrics
Perform internal audits of systems and files
Assist supervisors in performance management procedures
Coordinate employee learning and development
Coordinate training sessions and seminars
Facilitate employee engagement initiatives
Stay current and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
Stay informed on equity diversity inclusion and accessibility (IDEA) and assist in incorporating IDEA into HR practices
Support special HR projects
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Support hiring teams with the recruitment and hiring processes including posting job descriptions reviewing applications coordinating interviews and completion of new hire paperwork
Ensure IDEA is at the core of all aspects of recruiting and hiring
Lead employees and supervisors through the onboarding and offboarding processes
Benefits Administration
Guide employees through benefits enrollment open enrollment benefits changes
Serve as point of contact for leave requests
Track leave associated with Family Medical Leave (FML) Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) American Disabilities Act (ADA) Workers Compensation (WC) ShortTerm Disability (STD); monitor returntowork steps ensuring required forms and requests are completed and filed

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Prior State of Colorado human resources experience
Kronos NeoGov the State payroll system (CPPS)
Bachelors degree in a related field or combination of four years of relevant work experience/education
Two to four years of progressively responsible administrative experience including in a human resources function
General understanding and/or exposure to other human resource related functions i.e. recruitment onboarding/offboarding benefits administration compensation learning and development performance management
Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail Drive Docs Sheets Slides Forms)
Experience with HR databases
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Communication skills: Excellent speaking and listening skills to share information effectively while paying careful attention to concerns and questions from employees and job applicants.
Detailoriented: When ensuring the workplace is compliant with labor standards and when maintaining records regarding employee grievances performing background checks and reviewing candidate qualifications.
Interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively interact with individuals from various backgrounds and experiences and with high emotional intelligence
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle data with confidentiality

Salary Range:$58000 $66400 Annually
This position is considered nonclassified which means the position is not part of the Colorado State Personnel System. Therefore the individual appointed to this position is considered atwill and is not covered by the State Personnel Rules or the State Classification System. However this position does come with the same benefits (retirement insurance etc. as every other State employee and with the same opportunities pride and passion that comes with working for the great State of Colorado. Even though employment is atwill nonclassified positions have protections against discrimination and retaliation in state and federal employment laws. Atwill employment means that either the employee or the State may terminate the employment relationship at any time for any reason or no reason with or without notice or cause as long as no federal or state law is violated.
A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience education certifications and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
