Job Description

The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university local state national and international levels.

Responsibilities

The duties of the Director of Executive Outreach are as follows:

  • To assist the Vice President at their discretion.

  • To engage and conduct all outreach to the student body and within the Association that is pertinent to the limitation and duties of the Executive Branch. This shall not replace nor supersede any other outreach done in any part of the Association.

  • To serve as an advisor to the ASUN President and Presidents Cabinet regarding all executive event planning.

  • Act as a representative of the Vice President when necessary.

  • Oversee and plan internal operations of the Executive Branch at the requests of the President including but not limited to ASUN Retreat training and the annual ASUN Banquet.

  • Ensure that all positions that require ASUN retreats and training are in attendance and/or excused.

  • Excuse absences include all universityrecognized attendance exemptions as well as special circumstances under the jurisdiction of the Chief of Staff.

  • Alongside the Director of Executive Affairs organize and execute introductory meetings with officers and departments as well as exit interviews to ensure the goals of the Association are met.

  • Responsible for evaluating the efficacy and utility of the events thrown with funds from the executive account.

  • To have a report read or spoken into the record at minimum every other Senate Meeting.

Required Qualifications

  • During my tenure in this appointed position I agree to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada Reno

  • Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 credits

  • Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents

  • Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct

  • Meet all deadlines set forth attend all required meetings and trainings work scheduled hours properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time

  • Assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada

  • Behave in an ethical manner and maintain a high level of integrity

  • Other duties as called upon by my position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in ASUN as an officer

  • Prior event planning and budgeting experience

  • Previous management mentorship or leadership experience with peers

  • Flexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasks

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to positively represent the Executive Branch internally and externally

  • Willingness to serve as support for the Presidents Cabinet coordinating resources and initiatives to promote the mission and success of ASUN

  • Commitment to advancing the foundational pillars of the Home Means Nevada Platform through:

  • Honoring reviving and expanding campus traditions to cultivate a strong sense of belonging school pride and shared celebration among students

  • Prioritizing diverse dimensions of wellnessincluding financial mental physical academic and environmental healththrough sustained services partnerships and advocacy

  • Strengthening student connections by enhancing support for clubs and organizations expanding access to campus resources and promoting community engagement

  • Creating an inclusive and transparent student government that champions diversity equity and accessibility while building a culture of trust accountability and shared governance
