SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
(Nonexempt Employee)
Purpose of Job:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the processing of grant billing grant reporting and accounts receivable and the performance of other accounting and administrative duties as designated below.
Scope of Responsibility:
Work performed in an office setting.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Responsible for accounts receivable and grant billing and reporting.
2. Records cash receipts.
3. Makes bank deposits.
4. Performs monthly client trust reconciliation.
5. Assists with monthly account reconciliations.
6. Enters and maintains Accounts Payable vendors.
7. Performs accounts payable allocations.
8. Mails and/or distributes accounts payable checks.
9. Provides clerical and research assistance which includes but not limited to scanning attaching filing copying shredding and archiving.
10. Provides backup for other accounting staff.
11. Assists with budget preparation.
12. Assists with compiling information for independent audit.
13. Undertakes specific administrative tasks as requested by the Chief Financial Officer and Supervising Accountant.
14. Assists the Chief Financial Officer and Supervising Accountant in insuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in all aspects of the agencys financial management system including the development of internal control procedures and accounting protocols.
15. Assists with the financial training of staff as necessary.
16. Maintains a good working relationship with all members of the program staff.
17. Performs such other duties as may reasonably be requested.
18. Assists the Chief Financial Officer and Supervising Accountant in fulfilling his/her financial and administrative responsibilities to the Board of Directors and various funders.
Other Duties:
1. 2. The Senior Accountant will work with their supervisor to develop goals within program priorities and funding; and work with their supervisor to identify individual training needs.
3. The Senior Accountant will account for 100 of their time using LAWV time sheets on a biweekly basis.
Resignation Requirement:
The Senior Accountant is expected to give the Employer four 4 weeks written notice of their intent to cease employment with LAWV.

Job Requirements:
1. Must have a fouryear degree in Business Administration or a related field with emphasis in accounting and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with comparable responsibilities and required skills.
2. Should possess a broad knowledge of financial management systems nonprofit accounting budgeting and financial planning.
3. Should have welldeveloped administrative skills and experience working in an organization with multiple office sites.
4. Should have a high energy level and be comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with daytoday activities.
5. Should have the ability to get along with diverse personalities and be tactful mature and flexible.
6. Should have strong reasoning abilities and informal problemsolving/negotiation skills sound judgement and be wellorganized with good communication skills.
7. Experience working in a nonprofit agency is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
1. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger or handle objects tools controls or equipment; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear drive.
2. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
