Senior Systems Engineer - Mainframe RACF hybrid - 8 days per month in office

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Mainframe Generalist with expertise in RACF Administration to join our dynamic team. As a Mainframe Generalist your primary responsibility will be to ensure the secure and efficient operation of our mainframe systems. You will oversee daytoday user administration implement and refine security policies and maintain the integrity of our RACF database. Additional knowledge of software such as z/OS CICS IMS MQ TCPIP and storage systems is advantageous but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• RACF Administration: Perform daytoday RACF Administration tasks including user provisioning and deprovisioning and handling change requests.
• Security Maintenance: Maintain and refine mainframe security policies to ensure data protection and compliance.
• Database Integrity: Conduct cleanup and maintenance of the RACF database to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaboration: Work with the team to expand your role into overall RACF Administration.
• System Implementation: Implement new systems software and modifications without disrupting production or testing.
• Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor and optimize systems and infrastructure for maximum availability.
• Performance Management: Identify and resolve application performance bottlenecks working closely with developers.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure security backup and redundancy strategies are in place.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation on system software changes and requirements.
• Technical Support: Provide second and thirdlevel support coordinating with vendors and IT personnel.
• Team Guidance: Offer technical guidance and support to the application development team.
• Standards & Procedures: Define and enforce technical standards and procedures to maintain system integrity.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in mainframe administration with a focus on RACF.

Preferred Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and integrity.
• Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with z/OS CICS IMS MQ TCPIP and storage systems.
• Familiarity with z/VM z/Linux JES2/JES3 IBM storage systems DB2 and IMS.
• Proficiency in TSO/ISPF SDSF and JCL.
• Experience with software installation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with CICS DB2 and WebSphere MQ.

Salary Range: $85300$127900

The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employees work experience their geographic location education certification(s) scope and responsibilities in the role and additional qualifications.
