Make an impact at Serco
As a Medical Officer you will make a positive impact by:

• You will be responsible for delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards legislation and Defence Policies and Procedures.
• You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.
• You will play an integral role in assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty and in the provision of care that will support the health and welling of members pre and post deployments.
• You will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO) Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.
• You will be supported by a Team of Senior Medical Officers and uniformed colleagues.
• You may be required to provide the services in either an outpatient setting or inpatient care setting within a ward.

About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defenceready clinical and support staff across 40 onbase locations ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality onsite medical care.
About Cerberus
Cerberus Health Centre is located at HMAS Cerberus in Westernport (adjacent to Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula). This Naval base has approximately 4000 members and is the primary training establishment for young recruits (about 6000 personnel trained annually) averaging 800 trainees onboard at any one time. The health centre provides primary medical outpatient dental nursing physiotherapy mental health and pharmaceutical services. It contains a 30 bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. The standard operating hours are generally 07:30 15:30 Monday Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and oncall shifts). The facility is also responsible for the provision of afterhours services to ADF personnel on the Mornington Peninsula.
Serco is a place for you
To be successful in this role you will have:

• Current unconditional and unrestricted General registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) OR Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) OR Vocational Registration.
• Minimum of 2 years fulltime post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years (or parttime equivalent) GPT Registrar rotations are counted.
• Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009 certification.

Please note:

• You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
• You dont need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian onbase and your job stays here even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
