Career Specialist Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Career Specialist. The Career Specialist ispart of C3: Creativity Careers Communitywhich incorporates three distinct yet related and collaborative entities.This position is responsible for advising students in careerrelated topics developing and maintaining faculty community and alumni partnerships to generate reciprocal experiential learning and career opportunities for students. Work Schedule Hours: 40 Months of Service per Year: 12 months position to start July 2025. Essential Job Responsibilities: - Responsible for educating students through oneonone appointments presentations workshops and print/virtual resources.
- Use interest assessments interviews and individual planning to help students or alumni to evaluate their interests skills and abilities and develop realistic career goals
- Provides guidance coaching and support to students throughout their career development process; including major/career exploration; experience building; and professional transition.
- Advise students and teach them skills/strategies for resume/cover letter writing job/internship searching interviewing networking and applying.
- Create opportunities and events designed to facilitate networking between students and alumni or industry professionals. Cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni and community partners through oneonone connections and networking events to develop opportunities for students to create student interest and to facilitate the connection of engagement opportunities with academic learning and career planning
- Develop and maintain systems and databases to ensure centralized current and easytoaccess information.
- Plan coordinate and facilitate Careers Community Events with faculty students and alumni to connect and educate students on various career topics.
- Work collaboratively with faculty and other internal constituents to support experiential learning opportunities for students and ensure practicum or internship for credit experiences are conducted in accordance with academic requirements.
- Attend corporate alumni and professional association events to cultivate a network of external relationships to foster student opportunities.
- Participate in strategic planning providing guidance for college initiatives related to career creativity and connections.
- Serves as a career liaison to faculty academic departments and designated student population to develop a culture of career readiness across campus provide targeted resources and programming.
- Share planning and impact reports with faculty and department heads.
- Create timely connections and develop a collegial and supportive relationship with Faculty Advisors including transitioning these relationships and onboarding new advisors as they come to the role.
- Keep consistent and professional notes on all student appointments
Qualifications: - Bachelor Degree required. Business Administration Education Human Resources fields of study preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- 12 years of recruitment experiential learning or career services experience
