Position Summary
A SIGN ON BONUS OF $5639 IS AVAILABLE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT OF THIS POSITION PAID IN 2 INSTALLMENTS WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF HIRE : $2819.50 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE & $2819.50 12 MONTHS AFTER HIRE DATE . This position functions as a Lab Mechanic responsible for maintaining building electrical systems and critical building systems such as controls for water boost systems sewage lift systems and sump pump systems. Maintains automated lighting controls and other equipment related to campus classrooms. Troubleshoots problems with autoclaves sterilizers and various lab related equipment and campus specialized water systems. Monitors campus building electrical systems using a variety of meters that record voltage amperage and monitors for voltage issues. Completes reports and submits them to campus departments.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Demonstrated journey level experience in the electrical trade. Ability to read and interpret complex schematic drawings/blueprints on building systems and equipment. Ability to serve as a mandatory employee and report to work in support of mandatory University operations even when adverse weather or other emergency conditions require the University to close. NC Drivers License or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Demonstrated electrical experience and knowledge in plumbing systems.
