Make an impact at Serco
You will work with a multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health professionals on site to contribute to positive mental health outcomes for the Australian Defence Force personnel at Oakey Health Centre. This role is currently Part Time 0.8FTE with shifts Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday weekly 7:30am 3:30pm.
As a Psychologist youll make a positive impact by:
- Performing intake assessments and risk assessments
- Providing crisis intervention
- Planning case formulation and treatment planning
- Providing programmatic treatment interventions
- Planning care coordination
- Performing mental health screenings
- Conducting group psychoeducation
About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defenceready clinical and support staff across 45 onbase locations ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality onsite medical care.
About Oakey Health Centre
Oakey Health Centre is located at the Army Aviation Centre (AAC) 3km outside Oakey. It is the training area for Australian Army Aviation and is home to the 126 Squadron (Cougar helicopters) of the Republic of Singapore Air Force. With approximately 500 members the health centre provides primary medical aviation medical dental nursing physiotherapy pharmaceutical and mental health services. It is also an emergency response to AAC. Health centre staff may be required to work across Cabarlah & Oakey. The standard operating hours of the centre are generallyMonday Friday.

Shifts are lifestyle friendly in this Psychologist role being Monday and Friday day shifts no nights or weekends.
To be successful in this role youll have the following:
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a general Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum of 2 years fulltime (or parttime equivalent) Post Graduate Experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence based Focussed Psychological Strategies as defined under the Medicare Schedule
Please note:
You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
You dont need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian onbase and your job stays here even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
