Position Summary
The Associate Director of Educational Programs (AD) will direct the Faculty Development Fellowship training program FDF Medical Student Education Program MSEP functions and provide continuing education for departmental faculty and staff development. The position will work closely but independently with the FDFs Medical Director the Chair of Family Medicine clinic leadership and medical educators nationally. The Associate Director will provide integrated faculty support and services for the educational and scholarly missions of the UNC Department of Family Medicine. This role includes administrative leadership and operational management for the family medicine Faculty Development Fellowship FDF oversight and guidance for the Medical Student Education Program MSEP and departmental faculty and staff development. The Associate Director will serve as the main point of contact for educational programmatic needs communicating with department leadership and other academic departments locally and nationally to develop program curriculums. This position will disseminate trends leverage technology and emphasize and focus on evidencebased practices to improve patient care address health disparities build research etc. This position is critical to a highly integrated interdisciplinary team working closely with respective units. The responsibilities include: 1 provide administrative and operational educational program leadership; 2 facilitate and coordinate grantgenerating activities including grant coordination and identifying funding opportunities; 3 data management and reporting; 4 assistance with dissemination activities including manuscript preparation and editing; 5 program evaluation and reporting and; 6 budgeting and financial reporting.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
A masterslevel degree is required i.e. MPA MPH or another related field. A minimum of two years of experience in leading projects and data management coordination and dissemination activities (E.G. manuscript preparation) team development and budgeting is required. Knowledge and experience in student learner program planning and administration. Candidates must be able to communicate with diverse audiences build relationships with a variety of partners and constituents and engage in successful grantmaking. The candidate should demonstrate the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities of a confidential nature and exercise a high level of discretion and independent judgment. Candidate must have proven managerial fiscal and administrative abilities and an understanding of the culture policies and procedures relevant to academic family medicine programs.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Candidates with experience in developing online class management tools and educational evaluation are preferred.
