Principal Scrum Master

Summary of the role:

The Principal Scrum Master will accelerate the flow of value delivery at Agile team level through embracing and promoting the LeanAgile values and principles. Facilitates the team and train ceremonies and is the guardian of the Scrum/Kanban/SAFe train artifacts; communicates with stakeholders escalates impediments helps manage risks and strives to improve this all in a robust way restlessly. This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in our Salt Lake City or Minneapolis office 23 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and facilitate Agile team practices (Events agile estimation artifacts demonstrating the value continuous improvement builtin quality)

• Coach teams and individuals to optimize their flow of value and improve predictability and time to market.

• Coach team members in LeanAgile practices and mindsets in a scaled Agile environment

• Drive key agile performance metrics to measure team organizational performance and identify areas for growth and improvement.

• Identify and implement techniques to improve team effectiveness utilizing an empirical approach and support the team in decisionmaking

• Summarize Team goals and publishes them for visibility and transparency

• Foster an environment of mutual influence team identity commitment towards shared vision

• Collaborate and coach Product Owners and other stakeholders and help create and maintain a valuefocused team backlog

• Collaborate with Product Management and portfolio leads to create longterm delivery plans and forecasts

• Collaborate with Agile coaches and contribute to orglevel Agile transformation

Common accountabilities:

• Proficient in technical knowledge to ensure team performs at a high level. Is recognized as a leader in own area and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists.

• Understands how main business drivers may impact on own area. Can assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity improve processes recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information.

• Works with a high level of autonomy based on management directions. Leads projects or contributes to broad crossfunctional projects. May contribute to planning of resources and budget.

Qualification

• Bachelors degree in information technology or related field; Masters degree is a plus.

• Minimum 8 years of experience with software development methodologies and agile development

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Scrum master or Coach for multiple Agile teams

• Experienced in working within a scaledagile environment with distributed teams managing crossfunctional teams

• Certifications including or equivalent to SAFe RTE SPC a plus Scrumorg PSM 11 PMIACP.

• Proficient with tools such as Azure Dev Ops (ADO) or Jira

• Experience querying data and building reports using PowerBI

• Knowledge of modern engineering practices such as CI/CD DevOps SRE and cloud computing.

• Strong knowledge of project management principles

• Excellent communication skills capable of interacting effectively with a diverse range of audiences.
