Job Description

The position requires aboveaverage attention to details concern for the exact correctness of work and strong commitment to completing tasks on time. The person in this position will take work seriously with a strong sense of duty and discipline.


The job involves a somewhat fasterthanaverage pace and a lot of detailed specialized work. The person in this position will receive clearly defined work responsibilities and reporting relationships. Training opportunities will be ongoing and thorough to develop expertise and increase confidence. Work will require competence conscientiousness and collaboration.


The position will provide security in a stable work environment allowing the person to plan for focus on and complete tasks at hand. When changes in the nature of the work occur the person will be provided with direction training and support. The position will generally be taskoriented requiring someone with a conservative careful and cautious approach to work.


Job Characteristics:

  • Work is unambiguous and requires completing tasks from start to finish. The focus is on getting work done on time and correctly.
  • Must be extremely taskoriented with a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Adheres to established guidelines and procedures and exhibits a high degree of informationgathering before making decisions. Must be comfortable making decisions in the area of specialty or expertise.
  • Communication style is reserved factual formal and sincere. Management may provide direction in areas outside of expertise.
  • Need for strong followthrough on delegated tasks and assignments. Leads by example following established policies and procedures with an expectation that others will do the same. Exhibits technical expertise in the area.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft review and edit legal documents including pleadings contracts subpoenas complaints interrogatories discovery requests legal briefs affidavits and correspondence under the supervision of a lawyer.
  • Manage and organize case files ensuring all documentation is accurate and uptodate.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials hearings and depositions by organizing exhibits coordinating witnesses filing motions and conducting research on legal articles.
  • Coordinate communication between clients witnesses opposing counsel experts and court personnel.
  • Maintain case calendars tracking deadlines and filing requirements.
  • Review and manage incoming and outgoing discovery requests and responses.
  • Stay current with legal developments and changes in regulations relevant to the practice area.
  • Conduct client meetings and assist with client communications.
  • Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies Legal Studies or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in family law.
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software (Lexis) case management systems (Clio) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Understanding of legal ethics and confidentiality requirements.
  • Experience in handling discoveryrelated tasks.
  • Available to start after May 2025
