A Day in the Life of a Phlebotomist
In this role the phlebotomist is primarily responsible for performing blood collection procedures using venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques ensuring accurate and safe collection of patient specimens. Additional tasks include conducting workplace drug screenings adhering to strict protocols and managing specimen processing for both inhouse and reference laboratories. The position requires handling clerical work such as data entry and maintaining communication through phone and fax. The work environment can be fastpaced and stressful demanding high levels of organization and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Collaboration with laboratory technicians nurses and administrative staff is essential to ensure seamless operation and compliance with healthcare standards.

From blood banking for transfusions to advanced molecular diagnostics our team is vital to hospital operations patient safety and treatment outcomes. Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required
- High school graduate or equivalent
Preferred
- Experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting
- Medical assistant or phlebotomy certification
Compensation and Benefits
