Description
Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows needs PartTime Literacy Aides towork independently and as part of a team on literacy skills with preK students at our Early Learning Centers!
As a literacy aide youll work 20 hours a week 9am to 1pm Monday through Friday) to develop kindergarten readiness skills with our 3yearolds. Youll focus on the positive and on child development by:
- planning preparing and leading literacy activities
- giving regular readiness assessments
- and collaborating on training and family support.
We are looking for applicants with some experience working with children or who are working on a career in education or child care.

And will ultimately build students oral language phonological awareness alphabet knowledge early writing and vocabulary development.
Pay: $15 per hour
Shift:9am to 1pm Monday through Friday
Location:We have five locations throughout Reno/Sparks so we are probably close to home!
Hiring Process:

Qualifications
Qualifications for Literacy Aide:
- Must pass Drug Test (for illegal in the state of Nevada)
- Must Pass Child Care Background Check
- Must provide references
- Must be available Monday through Friday
- Meet Washoe County and state of Nevada requirements including trainings outside of your regular shift
- Experience working in early childhood preferred
- Experience with ASQ3 and Brigance assessments preferred
- Caring individual who gets to know children by name
- Dedicated to local community
- Helping the team is a priority
- Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
Education:
- High school or GED (Required)
Experience:
- Early Childhood Education: 1 year (Preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
