The Department

Alfred Healths Dietetics and Nutrition Department provides an integrated service at The Alfred Sandringham and Caulfield Hospitals.This position is based at The Alfred Hospital. The joint Dietetics and Nutrition Department is comprised of 48 EFT and 65 people. It is organised into eight clinical streams and provides a 7day service.Using evidencebased patientcentred care it provides clinical expertise to Alfred Healths patients during their healthcare journey including the prevention and treatment of malnutrition and the optimisation of nutritional wellbeing and recovery through tailored specialised nutrition therapy.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available in Alfred Healths Dietetics and Nutrition Department for an enthusiastic and experienced Office Administration Lead to join their busy and dynamic team. The Office Aministrative Lead is responsible for coordinating a range of complex administrative functions in an appropriate timely and efficient manner to support the smooth operations of the Dietetics and Nutrition Department.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Administrative support to the Dietetics and Nutrition Department Manager Deputy Manager and team of Dietitians and Nutrition Assistants across 3 sites.
  • Managing the main reception area and being the first point of contact for patients and/or other visitors including answeringincoming phone calls.
  • Using a range of software packages and fulling administrative procedures to support efficient work processes.
  • Liaison with key stakeholders including our patients other departments within Alfred Health and external agencies.

Skills

  • Tertiary qualification.
  • Excellentorganisation skills including the ability to multitask prioritiseand work todeadlines.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; able to workcollaborativelyand applyproblemsolving skills in a complex environment.
  • Ability to use initiative and anticipate needs.
  • Customer focussed and able to deal with enquiries fromstaff and patients in a professional manner.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including proven experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting or using an electronic medical record (EMR) is desirable.
