About the Opportunity:
As a member of our highly respected national Ecology team you will contribute to Umwelts reputation for ecological projects across the ACT and NSW whilst also growing our service capacity in this area. We are looking for senior and associate ecologist candidates with diverse experience in field work assessments legislative awareness and solid reporting and project management skills. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Senior Ecologist and have sound ecological survey reporting and assessment skills. You will have a passion for field work and a drive for delivering high quality outcomes. About You:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Ecologist who has the following:
Tertiary qualifications in environmental science botany zoology environmental science (or similar)
5 years relevant experience
Terrestrial flora and/or fauna survey experience including the capacity to plan surveys and coordinate field teams
Demonstrated experience in managing medium and largescale projects
Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients government agencies and fellow team members
Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data
Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing and reviewing reports. Willingness to take responsibility for delivery of reports to final quality
Highly motivated with a strong team commitment
Be willing to work flexible hours and travel for work
Prior experience and demonstrated knowledge of the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) will be highly regarded.
