Job Description

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (minimum)
- 5 Years Experience in General Industry Safety
- Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Experience Required
- Preferred: Maintain one or more industry specific certifications (e.g. CSP CHMM etc.
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES/SKILLS:
- Highly analytical and organized
- Ability to learn and work independently
DESCRIPTION: The Safety Specialist is generally responsible for:
- performing environmental health and safety reviews at facilities across the country in accordance with contractual requirements;
- generating reports in a timely and accurate manner;
- supporting the drafting of bids and proposals for health and safety oriented work with the federal government; and
- performing other related duties as assigned.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass a preemployment drug test
- Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record
- Willingness to travel by air and ground (as required)
- Not eligible for employment sponsorship
- Capable of spending long days on your feet for hours at a time (field work)
- Ability to walk a multilevel multibuilding facility campus with limited breaks (field work)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Capable of sitting at a desk and using a computer for long periods of time (report generation)
