Position Purpose/Summary:
The Floor Technician is responsible as assigned for the cleanliness of the physical plant
and environment so that they are safe attractive and in an operative state at all times
with primary responsibility for the maintenance of all floors.
Essential Functions Dry mop and damp mop all areas as assigned.
1. Report any repairs needed to supervisor.
2. Report any unsafe areas or hazards to supervisor.
3. Report any accidents or incidents immediately to supervisor.
4. Understand emergency equipment.
5. Maintain confidentiality.
6. Clean all rooms and public service areas using proper technique and precautions.
7. Remain cordial and tactful with residents peers and others.
8. Clean womens and mens shower rooms and residents dining rooms as
assigned.
9. Evaluate new floor maintenance products and systems.
10. Assist Environmental Director/Assistant Director in monitoring infection control
procedures.
11. Replace laundry detergents chemicals etc. as requested.
12. Is responsible for performing all floor care as directed.
13. Transfer chemicals in a safe manner.
14. Participate in educational programs as required.
15. Reflect LSCs mission vision values and customer service standards in daily
interactions.
16. Complete other assigned duties as may be necessary for the orderly operation of
the facility.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous floor/environmental experience including operation of floor
machines and related equipment preferred.
Specific skills/abilities: Familiar with environmental concepts and standards.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: (Reasonable accommodations may be
made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Frequent heavy lifting; ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and carry 50
pounds routinely.
2. Ambulatory able to climb ladders stoop and bend at the waist repeatedly.
3. Sense of smell; ability to distinguish odors.
