This information is on the job vacancy titled: Special Instructions to the Applicants Job Description Summary: Works collaboratively to promote and deliver a seamless educational transition process for high school students into Career and College Promise pathways and beyond. Responsible for coordination and implementation of student recruitment enrollment plans and strategies designed to increase enrollment and success for students enrolled at assigned high schools in the service area. Serves as a success advocate for assigned high school dually enrolled students and serve as the college liaison for high school programs and will utilize discretion and independent judgment to recruit advise and enroll high school students into CCP courses while adhering to Administrative Code regarding required documentation and eligibility for assigned CCP students. Actively contributes to the growth development and activities of the College and department that promote a commitment to access and student success for a diverse student body
Duties
1. Advises all dually enrolled high school students in person or remotely as needed in the Career and College Promise students to completion of a certificate or expressed academic and career goal(s). 2. Serves as a success coach/advocate for assigned high school students to assist them in the successful completion of their college coursework and academic/career goals with a focus on career guidance through high school and assisting with transition from CCP to regular college admission when appropriate. 3. Ensures compliance regarding CCP Administrative Code for FTE compliance and NCCCS system office standards with regarding the enrollment of assigned schools/ CCP students in tuition waived courses while in high school. 4. Identifies and participates in recruitment activities presentations and events. 5. Serves as the primary liaison between assigned high schools and AB Tech assuring a positive and mutually beneficial long and shortterm partnership. 6. Utilizes Early Alert and follow up with students and faculty to assist students in successful completion of course and degree requirements. 7. Contributes and adheres to the College Vision Mission including RISE principles Values and Foundational Focus Areas. 8. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects. 9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Masters degree 2. Two years of fulltime or equivalent community college student services experience. 3. One year of fulltime or equivalent community college advising experience. 4. Direct experience with and working knowledge of secondary education standards in North Carolina. 5. Direct experience with and familiarity with service area public schools. 6. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish an East Slavic language and/or American Sign Language.
