Job Description
**COMMUNICATION REGARDING TEST INFORMATION WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL & TEXT**
PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Position is responsible for the installation adjustment inspection and maintenance of mechanical equipment at a municipal water or wastewater treatment plant. Diagnoses problems and repairs components such as pumps valves motors bearings and gaskets. Maintains records of work performed scheduled maintenance and inventory. Current position is in Wastewater Treatment. Incumbent often works around unpleasant odors hazardous gases and chemicals and is required to climb ladders down into work areas or up onto elevated towers.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school supplemented by courses in the mechanical trades considerable experience in mechanical maintenance and repair work in an industrial facility or any equivalent combination of training and experience is desired.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION
Examination will be a written test.
