Compliance InternOverview:
Precinct 4 Forward Internship Program P4FIP) is an 9week paid summer internship for students with a passion for serving others.
Weve designed our program to expose students to career opportunities with Harris County and apply what they have learned in the classroom to handson projects. P4FIP provides students the chance to bridge the gap between academic understanding and practical professional experience. Students from all schools and students who identify with a group that is historically underrepresented including but not limited to Black Hispanic Native American students with disabilities and veterans are encouraged to apply.
Interns will create a community to help support their personal and professional development throughout the summer as they launch their career. Interns will work with a mentor form relationships with other interns and engage our Senior Leadership Team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development oforganizational policies andprocedures.
- Participate in cross functionalprojects.
- Assist with the implementation ofoperating strategies plans internal
controls guidelines and procedures for activities under the guidance of senior staff. - Study and analyze informationabout alternative courses of action todetermine which plan will offer thebest outcomes.
- Gather organizationalperformance information.
- Compile data or documentation.
- Create maintain and enterinformation into databases.
- Compose type and distributemeeting notes routinecorrespondence or reports such aspresentations or expense statisticalor monthly reports.
- Perform administrative or clericaltasks.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Internship Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an educational institution and working towards an undergraduate degree in Business Economics Political Science Public Administration or a related field.
- Strong desire to work in government management
- Proficiency in Microsoft software applications including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint and Share Point.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business andmanagement principles
- Strong oral and writtencommunication skills with the ability tosummarize and communicate keytakeaways to diverse nontechnicalaudiences.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize competing projects.
