We are supporting various customers worldwide in automotive systems development. We are recruiting an experienced automotive engineer to work with our OEM customer on their site as a body interior seat structure engineer. The role involves project management interfacing with design manufacturing purchasing & other technical departments at the customer and interfacing with remote Bertrandt solution development teams.
Your responsibilities
Take a lead role in the development and coordination of seat structure designs for new vehicle models
Lead communication between Bertrandt teams and customer departments during design development release prototype & manufacturing ramp up phases
Hands on role in the organisation of fabricated & carry over parts for dry builds of complete sets of prototype seat structures.
Plan and lead design review status reporting meetings and attend appropriate customer led meetings
Maintain status for functional weight cost craftmanship and quality targets using customer templates
Liaise with stakeholders and suppliers to minimize complexity and tooling investment
Collaborate with customer departments & suppliers to achieve package and manufacturing feasibility
Communicate CAE feedback on attribute performance & requirements for additional analyses
Support DFMEA and identification of SC & CCs
Coordinate bid specifications for boughtout components/ assemblies
Maintain product development process look ahead and deliverables planning
Prioritise timely & accurate delivery of data to support product development project milestones
Support engineering release and change management processes as well as resolution of preproduction build issues
Interact with project team members in the UK Germany and other locations as required
Position is confirmed inside IR35. Successful candidates need to be eligible to work in the UK hold a UK drivers license and be able to travel to Europe and internationally. Support vehicle launch on site as required.
