Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Contributes to the overall success of LECOM by providing excellent customer service to all customers. Providing customers with prompt service quality food and beverages and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment in accordance with LECOMs standard of excellence.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
- Knowledge of the protocols and procedures in Institutional education;
- Acts with integrity honesty and knowledge that promote the culture values and mission of LECOM;
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team;
- Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a positive environment during each shift;
- Assists with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed;
- Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in employee morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager;
- Delivers excellent customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs;
- Follows LECOM operational policies and procedures including but not limited to those for cash handling and safety and security to ensure the safety of all employees during each shift;
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that employees can locate resources and various product as needed;
- Provides quality beverages whole bean and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health safety and sanitation guidelines for all products;
- Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods;
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance;
- Contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;
- Participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;
- Commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community including but not limited to serving on Boards participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

- Ability to learn quickly; Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed;
- Flexibility to accept other duties needed/assigned for the department needs;
- Ability to work cooperatively and collegially with others consistent with a workplace of dignity and respect and EEO rules and regulations;
- Ability to report to work as scheduled ready to devote full attention and energy to the important work of LECOM; and
- Ability to accept work directives from managers and supervisors in a respectful and cooperative manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:
Education: High School diploma and/or equivalent required.
Experience: Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality with or without reasonable accommodation;
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings evenings weekends nights and/or holidays;
- Meet store operating policies and standards including but not limited to providing quality beverages and food products cash handling and store safety and security with or without reasonable accommodation;
- Engage with and understand our customers including but not limited to discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication;
- Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers including but not limited to recipe changes such as temperature quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients; and
- Be available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.
