Job Description
Materials/ Geotechnical Technician
GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Material/Geotechnical Technician to join our Team. GEMTEC currently has openings for Materials/ Geotechnical Technician(s) in our Saint John office location.
The ideal candidates will have experience in general construction activities with materials testing and inspection experience considered an asset.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- College Level Diploma in Civil Engineering Technician.
- Two years experience in civil construction.
- Experience with materials testing and inspection.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong multitasking organization and planning skills.
- Possess ability to lift 3050 lbs routinely as required.
Main Duties:
- Laboratory testing of aggregates soils concrete and asphalt.
- Field testing and sampling of aggregates soils concrete and asphalt.
- Various office laboratory and field tasks related to materials testing geotechnical engineering and environmental engineering.
- Conduct construction surveys to support engineering projects.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to coordinate project activities and deliverables.
- Communicate project updates milestones and potential issues to clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Other duties as required.
Position:
- Fulltime 37.5 hours per week)
- Must have avalid drivers license and have access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.
- Salary range: $37000 $51000 per year
