Location:HMPLeeds/HMPWealstunand Wakefield/Leeds probation offices. This role involves regular travel between sites therefore own transport is a requirement of the role.

Were looking for aPersonal Wellbeing Mentorsomeone with a rare mix of compassion resilience organisation and flexibility. Someone who understands that rehabilitationisntjust about offering advice; its about rolling up your sleeves and proactively supporting someone on their journey.

Youll be working in a challenging environment with people who have complex needs and who can be reluctant to engage. But when you help someone break the cycle and take real steps toward transforming their life its a great feeling.

About the Role:

Youll support individuals as they transition from prison back into the community. Through both 121 support and group sessions youll cover essential topics such as health and wellbeing goal setting and personal development to help them rebuild their lives.

Your support doesnt stop at releaseyoull continue to assist individuals in accessing vital services such as registering with a GP securing mental health support setting up a bank account and connecting with relevant community groups Youll be there every step of the way.

WhatYoullBe Doing:

  • Action Planning: You will formulate detailed action plans that shape the support they receive post release identifying specific needs and barriers helping them reintegrate through practical wellbeing activities.
  • Caseload management:Youllmanage multiple individuals balancing their needs while keeping up with all the related admin.
  • Advocacy and signposting: You will be supporting participants to engage with key services.
  • Quality Recording:Keep thorough uptodate records of all your work on our IT system ensuring progress is properly tracked.
  • Group Delivery:Setting up and delivering engaging sessions in small groups.

What Were Looking For:

  • Relationship Building:Youll be able to connect with participants probation services and external stakeholders in a waythatsgenuine promotes a sense of trust and is nonjudgemental.
  • Safeguarding awareness:You are supporting complex individuals at a challenging time in their lives and will need to be able to identify any safeguarding risks. You will be fully supported following any challenging interventions.
  • IT and Administrative skills:Keeping meticulous records of every interaction to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.
  • Resilience:This role can be challenging and results may take time but you are the kind of person who sees things through.
