What Youll Do:

• Work on the characterization and validation of the battery powertrain and/or thermal systems
  that drive the chassis for commercially viable mediumduty electric vehicles.
• Design and deployelectromechanical test benches for electric drive units and their components.
• Develop and maintain test standards design and develop test equipment or procure and handle purchased test capital equipment tosupport test readiness.
• Leverage data analysis and existing tools to reproduce and characterize failures.
• Designand architect electric motor and electric drive unit dynamometers and HIL systems.
• Support validation ofautomated test systems. May oversee the work of junior engineers and/or manage engineering projects. 10%domestic travel.

Who You Are:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineeringfield
• 18 months of experience in an aerospace automotive manufacturing or lab environment in anengineering role or similar.
• 18 months of experience with laboratory test equipment including mixedsignal oscilloscopes to analyze realtime digital and analog signals such as PWM and inverter ECU excitation resolver signals along with troubleshooting lab setups using digital multimeters and power supplies.
• 18 months of experienceworking with National Instruments realtime control systems to model and integrate inverters motors motorcontrollers and batteries into a cohesive system while collecting realtime data using NI CAN interface withNIPXIe chassis systems.
• 18 months of experience in communication interfaces such as CAN with handsonexperience building CAN harnesses and implementing CAN communication in a HardwareintheLoop lab.
• 18 months of experience managing tests from setup through and reporting including setting upHardwareintheLoop test benches integrating National Instruments modules like FPGA cards to run realtime models of motors motor controllers and inverters and configuring the Speedgoat system to interface with inverter ECUs and CAN communication modules on the NI chassis.
• 18 months of experience using National Instruments LabVIEW software for realtime applications including converting realtime models to HDL in MATLAB and deploying them on NI FPGA cards via LabVIEW configuring inputs/outputs for inverters and motors in LabVIEW to facilitate realtime signal exchange and using LabVIEWs front panel to command models (e.g. speed torque) and monitor their responses in real time.
