Job Description
Digital Media LibrarianLyon College seeks a wellqualified Digital Media Librarian with a start date in summer of 2025. This positionoffers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic growing institution committed to inspiring curiosity and fostering
critical and deep thinking in a liberal arts environment. The salary range is $42000$50000 depending on a
candidates experience.
Qualifications:
An ALAaccredited Master of Library Science degree or equivalent
A working knowledge of electronic information resources and systems and their application to
research and reference
Demonstrated knowledge of various social media channels (Facebook Instagram X etc.
Support for the educational mission of Lyon College
Any of the following would significantly enhance a candidates application:
Service as an academic librarian
A second masters degree
Experience in the use of the OCLC WorldShare integrated library system
Experience cataloging digital resources
Working directly with electronic/digital vendors
Collaborating with users to solve problems
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Maintain the librarys digital resources
Manage the librarys social media accounts to promote and illustrate library services
Collaborate with constituencies across campus to provide assistance support and education
about the librarys resources
Organize outreach activities and events that complement the academic mission of Lyon
College
Engage with the college community as an active member of our shared governance system
through the Staff Assembly
