Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering SoftwareManager to lead and inspire a talented team of software engineers. As a keymember of the engineering organization you will play a critical role inensuring team alignment with product objectives priorities and riskmanagement. You may serve as a technical liaison between the development teamsand product owners provide leadership in team management architecture andproject .

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Team Leadership and Management
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers fostering aculture of ownership innovation and collaboration.
- Ensure the team has clear priorities and sufficientresources to execute development goals efficiently.
- Set expectations and track performance providing regularfeedback and career development opportunities.
OnCall Program Management
- Establish and maintain an effective oncall rotation programto ensure system reliability and rapid incident response.
- Develop and refine escalation procedures to minimizedowntime and improve issue resolution efficiency.
- Analyze oncall incidents to identify trends and implementproactive improvements in software reliability and system performance.
- Work with engineers to reduce operational burden and improvemonitoring alerting and automation efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Maintain proactive communication with internal and externalstakeholders ensuring transparency on project progress and technicaldecisions.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure alignment betweendevelopment efforts and business objectives.
- Act as a liaison between software engineering and otherdepartments to facilitate seamless crossfunctional collaboration.
Technical Leadership and Best Practices
- Guide the team in making sound architectural and technicaldecisions ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
- Participate in technical discussions planning and codereviews to maintain highquality software development.
- Advocate for continuous improvement in software developmentprocesses including CI/CD automated testing and deployment strategies.
Mentorship and Career Development
- Provide coaching and mentorship to engineers fosteringskill growth and career progression.
- Encourage knowledge sharing within the team throughtechnical discussions documentation and training sessions.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new engineers ensuring asmooth transition into the team.
Team Culture and Morale
- Foster a positive and highperformance team culturepromoting collaboration inclusivity and professional growth.
- Organize teambuilding activities retrospectives and otherinitiatives that contribute to employee engagement and satisfaction.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer ScienceEngineering or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in the field of software engineering
- 5 years of experience in software engineering management
- Experience managing software teams preferably in an Agileenvironment.
- Strong technical background including experience insoftware development architecture and system operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with theability to engage with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage oncall rotation program and implementstrategies for system reliability and incident management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloudbased infrastructures DevOpspractices and automation tools.
- Familiarity with remote sensing IoT or geospatial dataprocessing technologies.
- Experience scaling software teams and working in fastpacedproduct development environments.
- Certified ScrumMaster or equivalent Agile leadershiptraining.
Additional Information:
- This is a fulltime salaried position.
- Salary is commensurate with education experience andskills.
- This role may require occasional travel.
- Participation in oncall rotations or incident management meetings may be required as part of ensuring operational reliability.
- This position is based in Bozeman MT.
