Physical Demands
Heavy lifting carrying pushing or pulling of forces up to 50 pounds for up to onethird of the hours worked daily 25 to 50 pounds for more than onethird but not more than twothirds of the hours worked daily or 10 to 20 pound for more than twothirds of the hours worked daily. Ability to maintain a steady pace for seven and a half hours per day. Ability to work with industrial chemicals used by department. Must pass or have passed functional capacity examination. Work Environment: Custodians perform the majority of their work indoors with some instances of extreme heat due to (due to lack of air conditioning) and some instances of outdoor exposure)removing trash scooping snow/ice cleaning windows and moving between buildings).
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma/ GED education or a combination of education training or work experience that will enable the incumbent to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions travel up and downstairs climb stoop bend and work from ladders or platforms at various heights. Interpersonal and communications skills as performed in a critical customer service capacity interacting with residents department staff campus staff and community external to UNK . .
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer applicant one year of custodial experience a valid drivers license and has received vaccination for Hepatitis B.
