Field Service Engineer

Axis Automation is looking for a careeroriented Field Service Engineer to join a dynamic tightknit team creating custom factory automation equipment. Were a company with big ambitions plenty of opportunities for growth and advancement!

Our team has decades of automation experience spanning hundreds of projects and thousands of automation configurations.

Position Description: The Field Service Engineer role is a position that is mainly responsible for the preparation installation commissioning debugging and customer runoff events of custom manufacturing equipment that Axis Automation to our customer base. Other field related responsibilities include service calls contractually required machine maintenance updating customer machinery and troubleshooting existing equipment. The Field Service Engineer will liaise with Axis Controls Engineers Project Managers and customer points of contact.

Position Opportunity:

  • Field Service Controls Engineer: Substantial experience in Controls Engineering with recognized technical expertise ability to interface with customers support team members and be a selfstarter with a great attitude and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support existing and newly installed equipment at customer sites.
  • Ability to debug existing as well as edit and add logic to provide an optimally running machine.
  • Troubleshoot control system wiring safety circuitry and PLC/robot code.
  • Interpret customer specifications and communicate effectively to produce machinery that meets both customer and Axis Automation specifications.
  • Support customer runoff events for custom built machinery.
  • Support the build and electrical teams.
  • Take project assignment and direction from Controls Engineering Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years experience in a Controls / automation focused role
  • Willing to travel domestically approximately 6075
  • Programming experience with PLC HMI Robot (pendant and simulation programming) Motion Control and Vision Systems
  • Design experience with electrical and pneumatic systems and/or well versed in reading electrical prints with respect to troubleshooting and commissioning electrical controls systems.
  • Preferred software experience: RSLogix5000/500 Studio5000 TIA Portal FactoryTalk Ignition ProView AutoCAD Electrical Robot Studio Roboguide Motosim Keyence and Cognex softwares.
  • Preferred robotic experience: ABB Fanuc Yaskawa Kawasaki Nachi Kuka.
  • Ability to work Monday Friday with flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed in the field.
  • Valid drivers license.

Estimated Total Compensation:$120000$160000
