Job Description

Childrens Aid Society is Hiring: Licensed Professional Counselor


Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team. The LPC will provide mental health counseling services to individuals families and groups offering a supportive environment where clients can explore their emotional challenges develop coping strategies and work toward positive mental health outcomes. The ideal candidate will be skilled in evidencebased therapeutic techniques and committed to providing empathetic clientcentered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group therapy to clients experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety depression trauma grief relationship issues and more.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that address clients unique goals and needs utilizing evidencebased therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) SolutionFocused Therapy or others as appropriate.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients emotional psychological and social wellbeing.
  • Create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that fosters trust and growth.
  • Monitor and document client progress in a timely and accurate manner updating treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as psychiatrists social workers and medical providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed offering immediate support to clients in distress.
  • Offer referrals to other services and resources as appropriate ensuring clients have access to necessary community supports.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities to maintain licensure and stay current with best practices in the field.


Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Counseling Psychology Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current active LPC licensure in Pennsylvania or equivalent in accordance with local regulations.
  • Proven experience as a counselor therapist or in a similar role with demonstrated competency in providing mental health counseling to diverse populations.
  • Indepth knowledge of therapeutic techniques psychological theories and mental health diagnoses.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients in a respectful and empathetic manner.
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills with the ability to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of ethical and legal standards in the practice of counseling.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with specialized populations (e.g. children individuals with trauma or other specific needs).
  • Experience with crisis intervention and managing highrisk clients.
  • Ability to provide telehealth services if applicable.
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
