Job Description
Kindergarten Teacher:The Birches Academy is a STEAM and Arts Integrated Public Charter School located in Salem NH. The mission of the Birches Academy is to provide excellence in core academics and STEAM while cultivating the individual qualities and strengths of each child. The Kindergarten Teacher will teach the students with the support of a full time Teaching Assistant in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have classroom experience and will be committed to projectbased learning technological learning and innovative approaches in education. The candidate must be a team player dedicated to the success of the students and to the successful growth of the school. Please apply through SchoolSpring. Responsibilities: Plan and implement a rigorous core academic program with a thematic approach to curriculumWork with colleagues to integrate STEAM into the core curriculumCommit to incorporate technology within lessons/projectsAssess students using a variety of assessment tools (such as: rubrics portfolio and exhibitions)Provide emotionally and developmentally appropriate experience for studentsFacilitate the learning process of students by giving critical feedback in a timely manner Adjust instruction to engage and challenge learners to encourage independent learning and to develop a lifelong love of learning in studentsDevelop (with parents and students) and follow a Personal Learning Plan for each studentManage student learning and behaviorCommunicate effectively with parents and communityWork as a professional member of a schoolwide teaching teamWork with administration to meet terms of the charterQualifications: Masters Degree (preferred)3 Years teaching experienceCurrent teacher certification (not required) or significant teaching experience
