Job Description
The City of Cibolo is seeking a highly motivated Police Cadet to join our team. As a key member of the Police Department the Police Cadets maintain order and protect life and property by enforcing Federal State and local laws and ordinances.
About the Role:
As a Police Cadet at the Police Department you will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order in the community. You will be responsible for assisting police officers in their daily duties including patrolling responding to emergency calls and conducting investigations. Your work will contribute to the safety and security of the community and you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on peoples lives. This is an entrylevel position that offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in law enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Good physical condition and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
Responsibilities:
- Attend and complete the police academy as a key requirement of the cadet program.
- Participate in departmentprovided training including physical fitness defensive tactics communication and law enforcement techniques.
- Learn department policies procedures and local laws to prepare for a career as a sworn officer.
- Assist in community outreach programs such as public safety fairs school visits or events like Coffee with a Cop.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing reports organizing records or data entry to assist sworn officers.
- Help maintain the departments equipment and supplies including uniforms vehicles or safety gear.
- Shadow officers during noncritical tasks to learn departmental operations.
- Maintain physical fitness standards required for the academy and future law enforcement roles.
Skills:
As a Police Cadet you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will be interacting with members of the community on a daily basis. You will also need to be able to think critically and make quick decisions in highpressure situations. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are also important as you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports. Additionally proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs is preferred as you will be using these tools to complete your daily tasks.
COMPENSATION: Salary is $52000 plus outstanding fringe benefits package which includes 100 fully paid employee health vision dental and life insurance generous retirement package 13 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday 3 weeks of vacation and so much more!
