The Governance Committee of the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) is seeking nominations to fill a communitybased director vacancy at the Board of Directors table. The Committee is dedicated to creating a Board that mirrors the diversity of the community we serve and the staff we support. Community Representative Extensive expertise in technology cybersecurity and/or the application of Artificial Intelligence. Proven management experience with largescale technology implementations.
Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) is committed to excellence in the field of laboratory medicine demonstrated through patient focused quality driven care. With the voluntary membership of 16 member Hospitals EORLA strives to deliver high quality medical laboratory services in an efficient and timely manner.
Laboratories and the professionals who work in them are an integral part of the health care team and the services provided are essential components of 80 per cent of all clinical diagnoses and 100 per cent of all cancer diagnoses. However the increasing complexity of laboratory services required to meet clinical needs coupled with Government and Member Hospital desire for efficiencies is challenging EORLA to not only continuously evaluate and modify the services but also to explore opportunities for growth. EORLAs unique integrated regional structure provides great potential to pursue innovation in clinical service.

In identifying the qualities of an ideal board member we are seeking an individual who possesses:
An ability to think of the health care system as a whole.
Organizational governance in the nonprofit corporate or broader public sectors.
The time and talent to commit to the Board membership.
The skills to act as a collaborator and consensus builder.
The desire to actively participate in Board strategies.
The EORLA Board will meet inperson during business hours at least four times per year. A directors commitment to the Board will span a minimum of two years. The meetings are estimated to require a halfday of active participation and are of the highest importance.
The Board has identified several key objectives for the coming years which will help to strengthen EORLAs foundation and build towards the future:
Invest in our talent.
Innovate through new laboratory delivery models Technology research.
Strengthen our financial sustainability.
Improve regional collaboration for clinical care through stakeholder engagement.
Build an outwardlooking culture that is patient physician and member focused.
