Job Description

Service Designer SAFe Agile UX & Service Design Baseline Clearance

Location: Any major city in Australia (Sydney Melbourne Brisbane Canberra Perth Adelaide Hobart Darwin)
Security Requirement: Australian Citizen with Baseline Security Clearance

We are seeking an experienced Service Designer to contribute to a major transformation initiative within a government agency. This role operates in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) delivery environment and focuses on enhancing service delivery by creating usercentric datainformed and scalable service design solutions. You will work alongside crossfunctional teams product managers developers and stakeholders to ensure that services align with user needs and agency outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to uncover pain points and behavioural insights
  • Develop artefacts such as service blueprints journey maps personas and user flows to support endtoend service thinking
  • Collaborate with product managers designers and engineers to embed service design principles into product development
  • Lead and facilitate codesign workshops ideation sessions and prototyping activities with stakeholders and users
  • Support backlog refinement and scope definition aligned to service journey maps and pain points
  • Continuously iterate on design artefacts based on user feedback and project evolution
  • Engage with the Design Reference Group and other design governance forums to ensure quality and consistency of service design practices
  • Actively contribute to Communities of Practice and Agile Release Train (ART) events including PI Planning

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in service design or user experience design ideally in government or largescale projects
  • Proven ability to conduct and interpret user research and translate findings into actionable artefacts
  • Demonstrated experience working within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Agile environments
  • High proficiency with tools like Figma Miro Useberry Hotjar and service blueprinting frameworks
  • Strong capability in design thinking problem framing ideation prototyping and iteration
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or design certifications

Mandatory Requirement

  • Australian Citizenship
  • Active Baseline Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
