Job Description

Service Technician

Service Technician Essential Duties Include but not limited to the following:

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnoses cause of most malfunctions and performs repair accurately.
  • Follows workshop manual/WIS effectively for all diagnosis and repairs.
  • Document all steps taken to diagnose and/or repair vehicle on RO.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts accurately.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order accurately.
  • Road tests vehicles safely when required and documents road test results/mileage on RO.
  • Other tasks as assigned.


Service Technician Education and/or Experience

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OR
  • Associate degree (A.A. or (AS) from community college or higher; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OR


Relevant Certificates Licenses Registrations Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications

Service Technician Qualifications:

  • At least 13 years working with European vehicles
  • Works with fellow coworkers with a positive and teamoriented attitude
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail an accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to prioritize job duties to meet deadlines
  • Must pass a preemployment drug test and background check.
  • Acceptance by the dealerships Insurance Company as required
