Job Description
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. Essential functions include the following: 1. Teach classes as assigned from the regular Philosophy Department curriculum. 2. Assist in curriculum assessment and revisions and new course development. 3. Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours. 4. Maintain expertise in current teaching methodologies and curricula. 5. Perform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Masters or above in philosophy OR Bachelors in philosophy AND Masters or above in humanities or religious studies OR the equivalent (see below) Demonstrated cultural competence sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff
