Job Description:
Microchip Frequency & Time Systems (FTS) provides worldclass timing solutions and sets the worlds standard for time. FTS generates distributes and applies precise time for telecom wireless aerospace/defense IT infrastructure and metrology industries. FTSs customers from telecom service providers and network equipment manufacturers to governments and their suppliers worldwide are able to build more reliable networks and systems by using the companys advanced timing technologies atomic clocks services and solutions.
Microchip FTS located in Boulder CO is considering candidates for a selfmotivated intensely customer focused Senior Engineer IIProduct/Test to work with our team. This position will be primarily responsible for providing ongoing technical support for the Space Defense and Avionics Group. The candidate will possess excellent handson product engineering skills. The candidate must be able to multitask but also be able to focus to bring a project to a successful conclusion while also supporting other efforts.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager the Senior Engineer IIProduct/Test will have the following responsibilities:
- Support transition of new products from design to production
- Develop testing methodologies for new products
- Validate design and support test stations and hardware fixtures
- Create engineering documentation (change notices parts lists bills of materials test reports and test procedures)
- Provide technical guidance to production test technicians pertaining to failure analysis test methodology and corrective actions
- Troubleshoot production hardware to determine rootcause of failures and document and identify corrective actions
- Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware test issues
- Optimize processes to reduce cost and increase throughput
- Maintain processes and procedures in accordance with ISO9000 standards
- Derive metrics to target cost improvements
- Install troubleshoot repair and maintain electronic systems and equipment used in manufacturing
Essential Qualifications
- US Citizenship required
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering and 78 years of experience or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a test development in a manufacturing environment using LabView
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a hightech manufacturing environment
- Minimum 5 years experience performing electrical and mechanical troubleshooting using test and diagnostic equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes for troubleshooting of PCBAs to the component level
- Ability to develop ATE and bench test systems using standard lab equipment including network analyzer power meter RF signal generator etc.
- Ability to work independently is selfdriven and has a willingness to educate and train others in LabView techniques and solutions
Desired Qualifications
- Design of evaluation PCBs probe cards and test fixtures
- Experience using Python
- Experience using Linux
- Experience utilizing SPC or DOE
- Experience with Frequency Control Products such as oscillators and reference clocks

The annual base salary range for this position which could be performed in Colorado is $70000$163000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location skills and experience.
