Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the President and CEO the Chief Strategy Officer is responsible for leading the development communication implementation and sustaining strategic initiatives for SYHealth including the Organizational Strategic Plan. In addition the Chief Strategy Officer will forge new working relationships and synergies across the organization and ensure transparency and accountability for those carrying out SYHealths strategy.
In addition the Chief Strategy Officer will work cooperatively with the CEO Executive VP and Executive team while maintaining a role that is flexible enough to accommodate the dynamic nature of SYHealths needs.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Strategic Planning and Implementation
- Lead the development and implementation of the Organizational Strategic Plan as well as the detailed current year operating plan while adhering to directions set by the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Translate strategies into actionable and quantitative plans. Partner with the executive team to ensure their division and department objectives are aligned with the strategic plan.
- Develop proper channels of accountability and oversight of the strategic plan and collaborate with Sr. Executives and other key positions to set standards and expectations for the implementation of the strategic plan.
- Collaborate with executive team to communicate and deliver the messaging associated with SYHealths strategic plan(s) both internally and externally so that all employees partners suppliers and contractors understand relevant strategies and outcomes of the companywide strategic plan.
- Remain informed and forwardthinking about opportunities and risks in the industry and convey those to CEO and executive team members.
- Receive and analyze information formulate work plans prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans clearly.
Growth & Profitability
- Promote revenue growth increased profitability and overall growth as an organization. Coordinate and communicate SYHealths business development policies objectives and initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscapes opportunities for expansion customer acquisition new market opportunities and new industry developments and standards.
- Evaluate document and communicate deals related to M&A or Affiliation opportunities. Lead the successful transition and integration all M&A or affiliation practices into SYHealths corporate culture and community.
Leadership & Management
- Act as a key advisor on critical changes in the competitive landscape relevant marketplace and external business environment.
- Collaborate with leaders across the organization; fostering a culture of accountability and innovative thought leadership for achieving plans and performance targets.
- Identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively by fully understanding the root causes of the problem identifying and enlisting the expertise of key stakeholders and fully comprehending the implications of decisions prior to implementing the determined course of action.
- Develop staff to ensure continued professional growth and talent management to support the growth and longterm success of the organization.
- Build and support effective collegial relationships with applicable internal and external stakeholders and organizations ensuring and fostering a high level of collaboration in order to develop partnerships coordinate activities review work exchange information and/or resolve problems. Promote and model positive relationships among various entities.
Public Relations & Community Involvement
- Promotes SYHealth to local regional and national constituencies.
- Represent SYHealth at legislative sessions committee meetings and at formal functions.
- Promote SYHealth through written articles and personal appearances at conferences and multi media interfaces.
Board Matters
- Provide adequate and timely information to the CEO and Board to enable it to effectively execute its oversight role. Ensure accountability to our stakeholders partners and employees.
Other
- Performs all other duties requested by the CEO.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures objective quality assurance programs safety environmental and infection control standards.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature inservice meetings and workshops.
- Presents reports on strategy operations corporate compliance and other related matters to the CEO and the Board of Directors regularly or as determined by the Board.
- Attend meetings as reasonably required and participate on committees as directed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or reasonably requested.
Job Requirements
Education Required (Minimum level of education):
- Bachelors Degree in relevant field. Masters Degree preferred.
Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):
- 5 years in related management public relations or healthcare administration.
- 5 years in healthcare environment.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Excellent oral and written Communication.
Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:
- Superb organizational ability and exceptionally analytical.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Long irregular hours. May work weekends. Prolonged periods of sitting and constant walking and standing. Driving and occasional travel required.
