The mission of Family Support Services is to be the leader in providing safety stability and quality of life for all children by working with the community to strengthen the family unit.

Job Summary:

This is a management position requiring expertise in the overall management and delivery of services to kinship and foster home caregivers as well as family finding. This position is responsible for the licensing and support of Level I foster homes within the Kinship program. This position is responsible for directing a team of employees for the provision of services supports and benefits enrollment to ensure placement stability of children placed in kinship and foster care and coordination with partner agencies tasked with the same. This position is critical to ensure compliance with state regulations and statutes in regards to out of home care and also to ensure all caregivers are receiving the support they need to succeed. This position is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and support for caregivers to ensure placement stability permanency and child wellbeing.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversight of staff workload and workflow staff development recognition performance management policy interpretation and enforcement communication (team meetings and oneonones) etc.
  • Supervision evaluation and training of staff to achieve goals of department and ensure proper exchange of information and communication to achieve objectives through review of data tracking and monitoring monthly reports and communication back to the Manager.
  • Support the Road to 75 strategic initiative (increased placement of youth with kin/fictive kin and Level I licensed placements) through monitoring of staff approach and engagement with relatives and nonrelatives to increase the percentage of licensed Level I homes.
  • Ensure agency compliance and requirements for licensing and re licensing of Level I foster homes. Review licensing packets and ensure staff remain informed related to policy code and law.
  • Collaborate with any other departments and partner agencies on Family Finding efforts and best practices along with kinship support and navigation services. Facilitate placement stabilization efforts within kinship homes as needed to prevent disruptions. Work in partnership with CPIs and DCF regarding Foster Care Referrals joint response to investigations foster parent corrective action plans and other licensing related tasks.
  • Serve in oncall supervisor rotation for licensing and placement support.
  • To treat caregivers the public and coworkers with courtesy respect and dignity and present a positive public image.
  • Perform other duties.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Experience: Minimum three years of professional child welfare experience required. Prior management experience in a nonprofit/child welfare organization preferred. Prior experience with foster home licensing and specifically Level I licensing along with Family Finding or Kinship Support Services preferred.

Licensure Certification and/or Registration: Valid drivers license Child Welfare certification required.

Other Requirements:

  • Clear a Level II background screening.
  • Clear a reference check.
  • Clear a local background check from the County in which you reside.
  • Clear a substance abuse screen.
  • Provide a copy of all degrees prior to your first day of employment.
  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check and must be insurable under the companys automobile policy.
  • Provide copy of automobile insurance.
  • Provide proof ofand maintain a minimum personal auto liability insurance level $100000/$300000 if deemed to be a driving risk.
