Our Inland Transport Planner is responsible for cargo movement and intermodal processes. To ensure timely and planned delivery of import and export containers while using the best way of transport with costs and performance in mind to grow our inland business and deliver highest customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities in the Job

The main responsibilities of the Inland Transport Planner are mainly but not limited to:

  • Plan and execute the timely movement of cargo and coordinating with vendors and Customer Service
  • Ensure standardized transports based on planning & optimization
  • Work closely with vendors on performances and build relationships for future growth
  • Focus on transport quality costs and reporting
  • Customer oriented mindset to fulfill customer requirements
  • Working in the daily operations with meeting structures and projects
  • Monitor and resolve issues as they occur during planning or for the own area of responsibility & ownership mainly for vendors terminals rail stations depots
  • Work closely with your Teamleader/Manager in regards to the daily operations objectives and Maersk targets
  • Be in the center of coordination with other Maersk business units including Equipment Customer Service Sales and Intermodal Product to serve customers in the right way and improve processes while resolving issues

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or 24 years of experience in the transportation/shipping industry or an equivalent experience

Competencies and behavior

  • Agile and dynamic attitude with strong organization skills
  • Understanding of the transportation industry
  • Empathic and good communication skills to people at all levels of an organization and stakeholders
  • Organizational and time management skills multitasking and prioritizing planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and highlevel goals
  • Drive for results and success deliver under pressure conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure
  • Customer focus: Is dedicated to meet the expectations and requirements of internal customers; drive for quality and improvement of products and services
  • Enjoys working hard: Is action oriented and full of energy for the things challenging
  • Good language skills German (and English) required
  • Working knowledge of MS office (Outlook Word Excel) products and ability to quickly adapt to software
